Meet the cast

We asked the cast to share what they love about “Little Shop of Horrors”—and, given the chance, the part they want to steal from their coactors!

Markki Stroem

Who you play: I play the role of Orin Scrivello, DDS, the abusive dentist, and eight other characters. The ultimate ensemble acting piece, because technically I am the ensemble.

Your character in five words: An eclectic mix of personalities

What you love about the show: I love how iconic the show is! The dentist has actually been a dream role of mine! I have always wanted to portray him as the kind of psychopath that you would never think is a monster. Think of trash wrapped in expensive wrapping paper. I also love the campiness of it all! I have been a fan of carnivorous plants since I was a kid because of the “Little Shop Of Horrors” movie.

The part you want to steal: I would love to play Audrey II! I am actually a natural bari/bass. So I have to vocalize for hours to get to the range of most of the leads and support cast. Audrey II on the other hand was originally played by a singer who can reach bass notes. I am able to sing low as the Wino in the first scene, but I would love to try my hand at playing this marvelous horrific plant.

Reb Atadero

Who you play: Seymour

Your character in five words: Will do anything for love

What you love about the show: It’s a love story, fused with horror, and a social commentary with a Disney-like soundtrack—you can’t possibly go wrong. There’s something for everyone here.

The part you want to steal: I would play Orin Scrivello because I do enjoy playing multiple characters in a musical! Plus that Dentist song—chef’s kiss!

Nyoy Volante

Who you play: Seymour

Your character in five words: Feeds Audrey2, loves Audrey1. Ok?

What you love about the show: The wonderful music!

The part you want to steal: Audrey II! It’s always fun playing the villain!

OJ Mariano

Who you play: Audrey II

Your character in five words: Killer plant disguised as genie

What you love about the show: It’s a smorgasbord of great music, comedy and terror!

The part you want to steal: Seymour! The challenge of the tongue-twisting songs and the chance to portray a prime example of an antihero.

Sue Ramirez

Who you play: Audrey

Your character in five words: Dreaming of “Somewhere That’s Green”

What you love about the show: One of the many reasons to watch “Little Shop of Horrors” is to see the amazing plant Audrey 2! It’s never been done like this before!

The part you want to steal: Audrey 2! I always catch myself singing “Feed Me” with feelings. Haha! My subconscious has decided for me.

Karylle Tatlonghari

Who you play: Audrey

Your character in five words: Plantita, hopeful, TV-crazy, loving, animalistic (haha always in leopard skin outfits)

What you love about the show: I love everything about the show. I just realized it’s the one movie I saw many times over as a child. But now as a grownup, I love the social commentary element, something deep wrapped up in something scary and funny. I’m obsessed with the music and I just found out this year that the musical genius duo behind it also did my fave Disney movies namely “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin.” It fits right into my algorithm. I’m grateful that our musical director Ejay Yatco asked me to go far, far from my comfort zone so that I could bring out the Audrey he would be happy with. Paula Paguio aka Chiffon is my music teacher and she has been helping me bring out the best Audrey I can come up with in all my performances.

The part you want to steal: I would play Seymour. I have been practicing a version of “Mushnik & Son” called “Mushnik & Daughter”… sounds better. Watch out, Nyoy Volante! Hahaha!
