GAC Motor Philippines simply just keeps the ball rolling. It finished by remarkable numbers last year and the company still continues to do so.

In a dealer conference held last month at the Peninsula Manila, the Astara-backed carmaker announced a few of the milestones it achieved in the first half of 2024.

This highlights the 172-percent increase in sales volume in the first half of the year. This is pretty much good numbers for a fledgling company such as GAC in a local market abound by more established brands.

“Our GAC Motor Philippines team has shown unstoppable momentum as we continue to achieve new milestones and break new ground across the country,” said Franz Decloedt, brand head of GAC Motor Philippines, Astara Philippines.

“We are immensely grateful for the warm support of new customers and are eager to deliver the outstanding mobility solutions that GAC Motor offers to even more Filipinos.”

Last June, the company capped the month with a record-breaking 351 retail units sold, pushing the total to 1,702 units for the first half of the year.

Compared to last year’s 625 units sold covering the same period, the company, hence, thrusted by a staggering number of 172-percent growth.

This is led by the all-time favorite GS3 Emzoom, which grabs the lion’s share of its overall sales, accounting 64 percent.

Astounding Emzoom numbers

Likewise, in June, the company also announced another milestone achieved by the Emzoom. The vehicle then surpassed the 1,500-unit mark with its 1,569-unit turnout by month-end. Just imagine last May GAC Motor sold 320 units and 215 of these figures came from the Emzoom itself.

Decloedt was even more elated. He then said: “The team at GAC Motor Philippines welcomes this new milestone with immense pride and elation, as we are able to deliver a lasting, positive impact to the Filipinos with state-of-the-art, high-caliber vehicles, such as the Emzoom.”

“This achievement proves that an increasing number of Filipinos are choosing GAC for the outstanding value and benefits our vehicles offer,” he continued.

Even satisfied customer, Kim Daryl Canosa, a motorsports cinematographer and proud owner of an Emzoom R-Style, attested to this.

“I still remember the first time I saw pictures of the Emzoom. It was a real stunner and had the aesthetics of a sports vehicle. I was hooked. I’m happy to discover that my new car does not just look good, but definitely brings a lot of high-performance features, as well,” he said.

Furthermore, according to him, the security and reliability of the services provided by GAC Motor Philippines is also a game-changer.

Going up the ranks

With these numbers, the company is now ranked 12th overall in the local automotive market. Also, it stacks at the third among Chinese brands in terms of sales, according to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI).

“Achieving our goal to rank third in prominence by the half-year mark is a testament to our efforts, and we are determined to make 2024 an even more successful year,” Decloedt stated.

“Leading the charge are our nameplates that have become Filipino favorites, the GS3 Emzoom and M6 Pro, along with our other offerings.”

Ever expanding and growing

Along with the success of the GS3 Emzoom is the rising popularity of the multipurpose vehicle, GAC M6 Pro.

The MPV is slowly getting a foothold in the local automotive scene for its safety and premium features, interiors, functionalities and family-oriented essentials. The amalgam of all of these at competitive pricing has gained itself popularity.

Not only this, the carmaker is also set to launch six new models in the next six months, a true testament to its commitment to excellence and innovation.

“We aim to provide our customers with a full array of vehicles that seamlessly blend advanced technology with superior craftsmanship, staying true to our new tagline, ‘Where Craft Meets Technology’,” shared Decloedt.

Other than this, the company also opened several new dealerships under the wings of its various business partners. These are: GAC Angeles – Dreamcar Unlimited Automotive Corporation; GAC BGC, GAC Calamba and GAC Taytay – AUTOHUB Group; GAC Cebu – Autocentral Incorporated; GAC Dasmariñas – Premier Autoventures, Inc.; GAC Quezon Avenue – Philadelphia Business Initiative Inc.; GAC Sta.
