We don’t need to be an athlete to be a hero, I agree. But a politician being a hero, I disagree much!

Just qualifying for an opportunity to represent your country at an Olympic Games makes them heroes in my eyes. If a medal is forthcoming, that is a bonus regardless of color. Well done Filipino Olympic Team 2024, you did your country proud.
