Philippines invited to participate in 2024 XXXIII Baseball Federation of Asia

The Philippines has been invited to participate in 2024 XXXIII  Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) Under-18 Asian Baseball Championship to be held in Taipei on September 2 to 8, 2024. Our 18-year old and under Philippine National Baseball Team (PNBT) will be up against Asian countries like Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka among others. The winners in this Asian tournament will find their way to The World Baseball Classic U-18 for the global championship.  As of today, the Philippines Men’s Baseball is ranked 28th in world. A good performance in this tournament will improve our world ranking.

On its part, the Philippine Amateur Baseball Association picked the best of the best by holding extensive try outs and opening its doors in  a nationwide search for the team composition.  After months of extensive try-outs and games, they have finally selected the best players to represent our country. The national team players hail from all over the Philippines – from Samar, Batangas, Laguna and Metro Manila.  The Coaching team similarly represents a diverse team of talent and seasoned coaches  in Coach Oscar Marcelino, Coach Joseph Orillana, Coach Keiji Katayama and Coach Jon-Jon Robles. The head of the delegation is Mr. Raymond Tolentino.

The team underwent extensive training in the past months at The Villages in  Clark, Samurai Carmona Baseball Field, UP Diliman Baseball Field and at our historic Rizal Memorial Baseball Field.  This was only made possible through the generous sponsors and donors they had pooled in together to support the U18 PNBT
