Yamaha PH Racing, Paz barely miss podium in Malaysia
The Yamaha Tekhne Racing Team Asia and McKinley Kyle Paz came very close to a podium finish in Round 5 of the Asia Road Racing Championship.
The consistency of Paz has seen him score points in different races with his top performance coming in third place at the Chang International Circuit, Thailand.
Although Paz has yet to repeat that feat since then, he was closest this weekend. Starting seventh on the grid, Paz almost returned to the podium in Race 2 with a fourth place finish. It wasn’t an easy feat for Paz as he has pushed himself all season long to perform at the highest level. His dedication to his craft showed with his continued dominance in national races which made him sharper for a higher level of competition in international competition. The team is now just seven points behind the top team in the standings and will look to be the best team in the final round of the season.
The UMA MMR Yamaha Philippines Racing Team continued to miss April King Mascardo who is still recovering from his injury which leaves Gian Carlo “The Flash” Mauricio alone on the grid. Mauricio put up a gallant stand after starting from 16th place and finishing seventh in Race 1 to earn his team valuable points.
The last stand of the Yamaha Philippines Racing Team will be on December 6-8 at the Chang International Circuit, Thailand. The possible return of Mascardo may just be what the teams need for a big finish to their racing season.
