Suntrust Properties Inc. continues its heartfelt journey of making a difference in the lives of countless Filipinos.

As it celebrates its 27th year of building communities nationwide, this trusted property developer has turned its milestone into an expression of malasakit—that distinct Filipino spirit of empathy and compassion.

A more compassionate world

This year, the Suntrust Cares initiative, themed “Waves of Hope: Celebrating 27 Years of Building Dreams Together”, brought employees and community members side by side to share acts of kindness—reaching out to the community of Brgy. Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City.

Suntrust, after all, is committed to malasakit not just through homes but through hearts, by building a better, more compassionate world.

From delivering simple yet vital healthcare to bringing holiday cheer, Suntrust reaffirmed once more that the true impact of its developments can be felt more in the warmth of shared moments and in the helping hand extended to those who need it most.

As it partners with barangay leaders and residents, Suntrust has sought to become the community’s partner and friend.

“Our 27th anniversary is more than a milestone; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to fostering a brighter future for all Filipinos. Through Suntrust Cares, we support our communities not only by building homes but by creating spaces that empower and uplift,” said Suntrust Properties president Atty. Harry M. Paltongan.

“For us, CSR is an integral part of our identity. It is not just about giving back but about nurturing positive connections with those who support and coexist with our projects,” he added.

A gift of health and well-being

This year’s Suntrust Cares event took place at the Suarez Basketball Court in Flaviana, where employees and community members gathered for activities that brought comfort, health, and joy.

Suntrust brought a medical and dental mission to Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, offering free medical consultations, tooth extractions, and medications to residents who might otherwise lack access to these services.

Local volunteer doctors and dentists lent their time and expertise—an act that reminded people of their inherent worth and well-being. For many, this was a message of hope and a prompt to prioritize their health, showing that someone cares for them deeply, and that a healthier future is within reach.

Gifts of light and joy

The event didn’t end at the court though. Driven by Suntrust’s culture of malasakit, employees went door to door, visiting families, delivering wheelchairs and personal gifts to those in need. It was an exchange of kindness—moments where Suntrust’s mission shines through, touching lives with a warmth that words cannot convey.

Simultaneously, at the Suntrust Kirana site, more volunteers came together to distribute grocery bags to families—each bag being a message that someone cares about their daily needs.

Sharing the holiday cheer

Finally, Suntrust brought light into homes by gifting residents with parols, the traditional Filipino Christmas lanterns. This gesture had spread holiday joy, filling homes with light, hope, and the spirit of togetherness. It was a simple yet meaningful reminder that the true value of the season lies in the warmth of shared community, lighting the path toward a brighter, more hopeful future.

Looking forward, Paltongan assured that Suntrust’s CSR efforts will continue to evolve, as the company embraces creative and impactful ways to serve the community.

“Our people are committed to innovating our CSR activities to bring hope and support where it’s most needed,” Paltongan added.
