BIZ BUZZ: DongYan returns crown to KathDen

Avatar

In just 10 days since its debut, KathDen flick “Hello, Love, Again” (HLA) made history as the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time after raking in P930 million.

Its prequel, “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” used to hold this title with a whopping P691 million in ticket sales, but Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera (DongYan’s) “Rewind” surpassed it with P924 million.

So, it is safe to say that Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards have regained their crown as the best-selling tandem with this box-office hit. Nonetheless, both pairs are undeniable show biz royalties who keep on giving us quality entertainment.

Before attaining this achievement, the movie helmed by veteran director Cathy Garcia-Sampana hit some milestones along the way.

HLA, which was released just on Nov. 13, previously achieved the highest first-day gross of P85 million. Three days later, it had the highest single-day ticket sales with P131 million.

The movie revolving around the love story of Joy and Ethan also debuted at No. 8 in the US box office with $2.4 million in ticket sales.
