Rains to drench parts of Mindanao

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring rains over most parts of Mindanao on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

In a weather advisory on Sunday afternoon, weather specialist Ana Clauren-Jorda said the ITCZ is expected to bring scattered rains, lightning and thunder over Caraga and Davao Region.

The northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will still bring cloudy skies with rains throughout the day over Batanes and Cagayan. Localized thunderstorms will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain in Metro Manila and the rest of the country on Monday afternoon.
