Overseas Filipino workers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can now send money back home via GCash through a partnership with Al Fardan, one of the biggest remittance platforms in the Middle Eastern country.

In a statement on Friday, the Ayala-led fintech company said that over 200,000 Filipinos would benefit from this product launch.

“We believe that this partnership can be rewarding for our hardworking OFWs and will strengthen their connections with their families as it makes the remittance process easier and faster than ever,” GCash International general manager Paul Albano said.

Al Fardan has over 85 branches across UAE and more than 150 global banking partners.

“By leveraging the seamlessness of the GCash app, we are making it easier for Filipinos to receive money, and save for a better financial future,” Al Fardan CEO Hasan Alfardan said.

Apart from real-time money transfers, overseas users can also use the app to pay for bills like utilities, taxes and tuition.

The popular e-wallet brand has been establishing its presence abroad to reach out to more Filipinos.
