Panel formed for forensics institute

President Marcos has created a technical working group (TWG) that will study the establishment of a National Forensics Institute (NFI) which will strengthen the country’s expertise in forensics and bring about comprehensive justice reforms.

On Wednesday, the President signed Administrative Order No. 29 that formed a nine-member TWG tasked to conduct a comprehensive study and to submit recommendations on creating the NFI.

AO 29 stated that the TWG would be chaired by the Office of the Executive Secretary and cochaired by the Department of Justice.

AO 29 gave the TWG six months to prepare concrete short-term, midterm and long-term action points and identify possible sources of financial and technical support in establishing the NFI.
