Talk of the Town: Salvaging our future
Comments on “Salvaging our future,” (No Free Lunch by Cielito Habito, 1/28/25) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:
Dr. Habito is right about “Philippine education remains rather grim,” because of “their (lawmakers of the EdCom; add their consultants/experts on education) sorry lack of grasp of education priorities—or simple lack of patriotism.” The problems found by Edcom in their latest report are not new.

Lack of education leads to more traditional politicians in power, the spread of political dynasties, more corruption, and a dull populace. They like it because it allows them to manipulate their constituents, much like a carabao with a string in its nose. They will not touch the key to their demise; they prefer a dull, non-critical-thinking populace.
