Philippine Rallycross Season Begins in Cavite

Right after ending its 2024 season on January 18, 2025, the PHRX immediately dove into its 2025 season with the launch of Round 1 last February 1. The fresh new track at Arden Botanical Gardens in Tanza, Cavite proved to be an exciting new experience for the 50 entries that competed.

According to PHRX Organizer Olson Camacho, the new track, apart from being the kick-off track for the season, will also be used as training grounds for rally driver students. The course is a mix of tarmac and dirt that spans two kilometers.

Camacho said “This track has all the aspects: up, down, sweeping, rolling U-turn—it’s the perfect training ground for current and future rally drivers.”

“The hardest part was the finish. The car almost flipped after I crossed the finish line. But luckily, it went straight up again,” said Mike Reyes, who won the Open Class and AWD Class.

Meanwhile, Evan Marquez, who competed with a Volvo XC70, expressed his anticipation for the next leg. “Since this is the first time we are driving the Volvo, there’s a lot of learning experience in terms of handling and also harnessing the power of the turbo. So, more preparation since this is just the first leg.”

PHRX Rounds 2 and 3 are set to happen on February 22, still at the Arden Botanical Estate.
