Ex-PAOCC spox who slapped a Pogo worker regains job after undergoing anger mgt. therapy

Winston Casio has returned to his role as spokesperson for the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) a few months after his suspension for slapping a Filipino offshore gaming operator (Pogo) worker in a Bataan raid last year.
After reaching an amicable settlement, the complainant withdrew the criminal charges against Casio.
“The agreement was that I had to apologize to him in public, in court, in an open session… I apologized to the person, to the counsel, to the court… I also apologized to the wife because she was also affected,” he said.
A video that circulated on social media in early November last year showed Casio slapping the Pogo worker twice while berating him during an operation in Bagac, Bataan, last Oct. 31.
He explained that his temper flared after the Pogo worker supposedly cursed and flashed a dirty finger at a PAOCC member. He said that he offered the individual two options as a penalty: to face charges or be slaped, with the latter opting for the latter.
Casio said he had undergone anger management sessions and has been cleared by his doctor to work. He is also taking medication to control his temper.
While in suspension, Casio said he was “confined to quarters” where he was receiving pay but was only limited to paperwork.
“I am technically back as spokesperson and director in charge (of) media and public relations and, de facto, I also help the operations of PAOCC,” he said.
