Marcos: Alyansa bets have set aside differences ‘to unite and work together’

The 12 senatorial candidates of the Alyansa Para sa Pagbabago have set aside their political differences to unite and work together for the country, President Marcos said on Friday night.
This was how the President wooed voters of Victorias City, Negros Occidental, as he accompanied the administration slate on its seventh campaign rally, this time in the Negros Island Region.
Mr. Marcos’ speech at the Victorias City Coliseum, which drew almost 10,000 supporters, made it clear that the Alyansa candidates were determined to bring solutions and progress to Filipinos, unlike their rivals.
“I think it is very clear what the Alyansa is offering – it is progress, not squabbling, not taking advantage of others,” he said.
He then pointed out that the Alyansa candidates were not wearing a single campaign color, unlike other candidates or previous elections.
The 12 administration candidates wore various shirt colors like white, red, blue, orange, pink and black.
“We’re wearing different colors. This is because they set aside their politics, their political ambition and their political parties. They set that all aside to unite and work together so that they will have a strong and good performance when they reach the Senate,” the President said.
Before his brief appearance at the campaign rally, Mr. Marcos oversaw the distribution of relief aid to residents affected by the eruption of Kanlaon Volcano in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
He was also briefed by local officials in the same city about the eruption’s effects and the needs of the affected residents.
