DigiPlus full-year yield trebles to P12.6 billion

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. tripled its profit to P12.6 billion last year as it benefited from gains in its retail gaming segment, new livestreamed games and portfolio expansion.
The digital entertainment platform led by tycoon Eusebio Tanco disclosed to the stock exchange on Friday that its revenues likewise ballooned by 176 percent to P75.2 billion.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization nearly doubled to P13.9 billion.
According to Tanco, chair of DigiPlus, 2024 was “a defining year” for the company after launching new games that cater specifically to their Filipino audience.
“As we push ahead into 2025, we are focused on delivering new entertainment experiences, reaching new markets and setting even higher standards in the industry,” he said in a statement.
DigiPlus, best known for its BingoPlus game, last year launched perya (Filipino carnival) games Pinoy Drop Ball, Color Game Plus and other interactive games that “fueled significant revenue growth.”
As of last December, DigiPlus had 40 million registered users, doubling its user base in 2023.
In the fourth quarter of last year alone, DigiPlus posted a 93-percent surge in its net income to P3.8 billion.
Revenues during the period also soared by 110 percent to P23.7 billion. This is higher than that of Solaire operator Bloomberry Resorts Corp., whose full-year earnings ended at P2.6 billion. Bloomberry plans to launch its own online gaming platform to rival DigiPlus by the third quarter of the year, a move seen to contribute at least P2.5 billion to gross gaming revenues.
Aggressive expansion
This also comes amid DigiPlus’ aggressive global expansion following its recent debut into the Brazil online gaming market. The company obtained in January its federal license to operate sports betting and other online games in the South American country, costing the company around $6 million.
Tanco earlier said they would likely focus on launching games that were popular in Brazil, especially those related to football.
Further, DigiPlus’ board of directors approved last February its entry into Singapore via DigiPlus Global Pte. Ltd.
DigiPlus Global will serve as a “support function center” and regional hub dedicated to strategic partnerships, talent acquisition and international growth, according to DigiPlus.
