In a celebration that seamlessly fused high-performance automobiles with cutting-edge horology, Porsche Club Philippines (PCP) held an exclusive Breakfast Meet at Lucerne’s Watch House in Bonifacio Global City. Kicking off its first event of the year in style, PCP brought together enthusiasts who share an unwavering passion for both sports cars and luxury timepieces, setting the stage for a day of innovation, design, and motorsports excellence.

The event showcased an impressive display of Porsche’s latest sports cars alongside a curated collection of TAG Heuer watches. Among the models available for test drives were the new all-electric Macan, Taycan, Cayenne E-Hybrid, and Boxster. This diverse lineup underlined Porsche’s commitment to offering powertrains that cater to every enthusiast—be it electric, hybrid, or the classic combustion engine.

PCP treasurer Edgardo Asuncion perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the day and said, “What better way to start the year than with two things we are truly passionate about — sports cars and timepieces.” Porsche Philippines president and CEO Roberto Coyiuto III, and Lucerne group managing directors Ivan Yao and Emerson Yao, who were present at the breakfast meet, couldn’t agree more.

At the TAG Heuer boutique, attendees were drawn to the reinterpreted Carrera and Aquaracer collections, as well as the iconic Monaco and Formula 1 models. These timepieces not only highlighted the brand’s storied legacy in motorsports but also set the tone for TAG Heuer’s renewed role as the official timekeeper in Formula 1 racing this year.

TAG Heuer and Porsche share a long and intertwined history, built on decades of innovation and a mutual passion for precision engineering. The partnership, deeply rooted in the high-octane world of motorsports which now includes Formula One, the pinnacle of motorsports as its official timer, replacing Rolex. This change is part of a 10-year partnership between Formula 1 and the luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, which owns TAG Heuer. The watchmaker has a rich history in motorsport, having previously served as F1’s timekeeper from 1992 to 2003 and had fruitful partnerships with teams like Ferrari in the 1970s, McLaren from 1986 to 2015, and now with Red Bull Racing.

This renewed collaboration is expected to enhance TAG Heuer’s visibility in the sport, with branding featured prominently at all 24 races, including trackside displays and various activations. The partnership also reflects Formula 1’s growing global popularity, attracting significant investments from luxury brands.

A key symbol of this heritage is the TAG Heuer Carrera collection. Originally inspired by the Carrera Panamericana race, the Carrera line embodies the daring spirit and precision that both TAG Heuer and Porsche are renowned for. The reinterpreted Carrera watches presented at the event serve as a modern homage to this legacy, blending traditional design cues with contemporary innovation. This evolution mirrors Porsche’s own journey, as the brand continuously redefines automotive excellence while staying true to its racing roots.
