All-new Audi Q6 e-tron debuts with self-driving technology

The all-new Audi Q6 e-tron debuts in the Philippines equipped with self-driving technology, and is now available in the Q6 e-tron Performance version.
Audi’s revolutionary SUV, built on the Premium Platform Electric, features a self-driving system that uses numerous sensors to constantly monitor its surroundings. This allows the Q6 e-tron Performance to automatically maintain a pre-selected speed, as well as adapt to the speed of the vehicle in front of it.
The system also determines the ideal distance from the vehicle in front, and will react instantaneously for changes.
In stop-and-go traffic, the self-driving system can slow the new Q6 e-tron Performance to a standstill, and can also set it off again without driver intervention.
Combined with the lane departure assist, which automatically ensures the vehicle stays between lane markings on the road (even around bends), the new Q6 e-tron Performance is able to provide self-driving functions under certain conditions.
Supporting these systems are the swerve assist, front turn assist, cross traffic assist, and emergency brake assist, among others.
Parking the new Q6 e-tron Performance is also safer and more convenient, thanks to several systems that include the Drive and Park that can autonomously slot the vehicle into a spot.
Fitted to the cabin of the new Q6 e-tron Performance are equally advanced features. Foremost among these is the Audi Digital Stage.
The features consists of three main screens: the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit, 14.5-inch Audi MMI panoramic touch display, and the 10.9-inch MMI passenger touch display.
The virtual cockpit, which shows a variety of vehicle information, and the MMI panoramic display are placed on the slim, free-standing curved panel with OLED technology. This curved panel is oriented toward the driver.
The MMI panoramic display provides access to infotainment, climate, navigation, and smartphone functions. The MMI passenger display lets the front-seat occupant manage navigation and entertainment options without distracting the driver.
Above the Audi Digital Stage, projected on the windshield, is the augmented reality head-up display (AR HuD). This provides relevant information such as speed, traffic signs, assistance, and navigation symbols.
Offering more visual communication cues for the Audi Digital Stage is the dynamic interaction light (IAL).
A light strip spanning the width of the cockpit, IAL has three main functions, namely as a welcome greeting when the car is locked and unlocked, an additional visual safety reminder by duplicating the dynamic indicator light on the exterior, and a charging status indicator.
Powering the new Q6 e-tron is a single Permanent magnet Synchronous Motor (PSM) mounted at the rear.
The motor delivers 326 horsepower and 485 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 100 kWh battery, allowing the vehicle to travel up to 640 kilometers on a full charge (as WLTP-rated).
At the heart of the new Q6 e-tron Performance is Audi’s advanced 800-volt battery system designed for high efficiency and fast charging. This allows fast DC charging at up to 270 kW, enabling the battery to replenish from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes under ideal conditions.
The new Q6 e-tron Performance’s rear-biased powertrain layout contributes to an engaging driving experience as it enhances steering precision and balance. An optimized S-sport suspension system guarantees a comfortable and controlled ride.
As Audi continues to push the boundaries of 100% electric technology, the new Q6 e-tron Performance represents a forward-thinking approach to efficient and dynamic electric driving.
