3 Valenzuela City cops nabbed for extortion

Three Valenzuela City police officers were arrested in an entrapment operation on Wednesday after allegedly demanding P100,000 from an unidentified complainant.
The Northern Police District (NPD) said the arrested cops accused the complainant’s housemaid of theft and demanded the money in exchange for not filing a case against them.
Apart from the three, 15 Valenzuela City police officers were also relieved from their posts “in line with the principles of accountability and internal cleansing.”
Among those relieved was the chief of the city police’s investigation section, the NPD added.
