A critical mass transport project—the P200-billion Makati subway—collapses not due to engineering failure or lack of funding, but because of petty political squabbles between entrenched dynasties. No real nation lets local mayors hold hostage infrastructure meant for millions.

Political clan disputes have always had an impact on their constituents, as is the case in Mindanao. The Binays and Cayetanos should sit down and discuss their disagreements to secure the future of Makati and Taguig.
