True to its words, Ovialand delivers the ‘promised home’

Pammy Olivares-Vital

A few weeks ago, I attended a training session with my team for businesses that are scaling up. The speaker posed a question, “What is the single most important metric in your organization? What is that one number that you are so focused on—in which all other metrics do not matter?”He proceeded to explain that this metric is singular and unique to each company, even those that belong to the same industry or offer the exact same product. Once this metric is identified, the organization can now focus on what is truly important for it, without worrying about what others are doing or what the latest trend is.

It dawned on me that this metric was clear as day for Ovialand. Each year, what matters most to us is how many homebuyers were able to move into their brand-new homes satisfactorily.

Ensuring swift delivery

When a homebuyer decides to purchase a home from Ovialand, we set a specific month when to expect their unit to be completed, and when they can expect to move in. This signals to our clients that we will be processing their housing loans prior to this period so that when their homes are built, their housing loans would have already been approved and they can begin the exciting process of moving into their brand new homes.

Behind the scenes, our organization moves to this rhythm. Each moving part moves towards this committed deadline, with a deep understanding of what our commitment means to our homebuyers. After all, moving into a brand new home is arguably one of the most exciting moments in life that one looks forward to, and we take this responsibility very seriously.

Sincere understanding

Being in the business of homebuilding takes commitment and a sincere understanding of the clients we serve. When we give our commitment to our clients, you can bet that each person in our organization is aware of the gravity of our word.

One client I will never forget was during the first few weeks of the lockdown last March 2020. She reached out to me, quite stressed and agitated, understandably. She explained to me that she is fervently hoping that she will still be able to move into her brand new home the following month, as agreed when she purchased her home before the pandemic struck.

She shared to me her reason—that she and her child with special needs were currently living with relatives while her husband was away for work. She told me that her child was not adjusting well to being limited inside such a small space and she really needed to move into their new home.

Deliver on a promise

I told her we would do everything to make sure they would move in. The following week, she and her child finally settled in their new home. She did not need to explain to me the gravity of her reasons, because the truth is that we had a commitment to her.

While the pandemic was an unexpected world-tumbling event, we knew that we had to do what we could do to deliver on our promise.

As the end of 2023 nears, Ovialand so far turned over 528 brand houses across four communities.

While I don’t have all the pressing information of each client, we understand that each client will have his or her own personal reason, and we are not in a position to determine if the reason is important or not. What we must do is to deliver on our promise.

As the end of 2023 nears, we have so far turned over 528 brand houses across four communities. I’m not going to deny it, but we are still hustling and bustling to complete quite a handful before the year ends. This year, we are expanding our operations from four developments to six, and while this was an adjustment period for our organization, we are not going to let excuses get in our way of delivering on our commitment. In fact, we have become more obsessed with our promise, because we have dreams and goals of serving thousands of more families!
