Senator lauds raps vs Alice Guo

Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian on Sunday welcomed the filing of 62 counts of money laundering cases against former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, saying it boosts the campaign to rid the country of Philippine offshore gaming operators and their illegal activities.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday filed 62 counts of money laundering charges against Guo, also known as Chinese citizen Guo Hua Ping, before the Capas, Tarlac Regional Trial Court.
Guo is currently detained at the Pasig City Jail and also faces cases of tax evasion, falsification and graft complaints at the DOJ.
She is also facing a qualified trafficking case before a Pasig court, a graft case before a Valenzuela court, and a material misrepresentation case before a Tarlac court.
A quo warranto petition was also filed against Guo at a Manila court, as well as a petition to cancel her birth certificate before a Tarlac court.
