Top tennis player Lorenzo Musetti named Bottega Veneta brand ambassador

Ahead of his first Wimbledon 2025 match, Lorenzo Musetti, the world’s seventh best men’s tennis player, was named Bottega Veneta’s newest brand ambassador.
Musetti, who made his ambassadorship debut clad in Bottega Veneta’s iconic leather jacket, was handpicked for the brand’s ‘Craft is our Language’ campaign, which celebrates 50 years of Intrecciato, the luxury fashion house’s iconic leather weave.
Among those joining Musetti in the campaign were Julianne Moore, I.N of Stray Kids, and Tyler, The Creator.
But for Musetti, who’s partnered with brands such as Asics, Rolex, Polaroid Eyewear, and now the iconic Italian luxury fashion house, this milestone would eventually be spoiled by an early exit from the third Grand Slam tournament of the year.
“Really bad day at the office, I came here at the last minute and of course I didn’t have much good feelings with my game and honestly the physical side and energy and whatever it takes to play a match like this,” Musetti said, following his four-set loss to the ranked 126th Nikoloz Basilashvili.
“I was struggling to feel comfortable on the court from the beginning, I was really losing focus and was not really reactive on the ball.”

While Musetti came to the tournament as a top contender following his semifinal finish at last year’s Wimbledon and last month’s French Open, he suffered a left leg adductor injury during his Roland Garros semifinal loss against Carlos Alcaraz. Coming off a recent injury and missing out on some much-needed reps on the grass seems to have been Musetti’s undoing, who claimed that it felt like he “had never played on this surface.”
Wimbledon 2025 hasn’t been kind to the world’s best tennis players. In just two days since the start of the third Grand Slam tournament of the year, several top-ranked stars have also exited alongside Musetti.
On the women’s side, world No. 3 Jessica Pegula lost to the ranked 116th Elisabetta Cocciaretto in just under an hour of play. Recent French Open winner and world No. 2 Coco Gauff also bowed out in the first round following a defeat to the unseeded Dayana Yastremska.
Having a little under a month to adjust from clay to grass seems to have also affected the men’s side. World No. 3 Alexander Zverev lost to ranked 72nd Arthur Rinderknech, and the eighth seed Holger Rune bowed out to the ranked 143rd Nicolas Jarry.
