McKinsey.org rolls out capacity-building program for nonprofits–and it’s free

More than 190 participants from six nonprofit organizations across the Philippines took part in the inaugural McKinsey.org Ability to Execute (A2E) for Nonprofits workshop in Manila.
The program aims to equip nonprofits with practical tools to strengthen their operations and is part of the broader mission of McKinsey.org to drive lasting social impact globally.
McKinsey.org is a philanthropic arm of the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
“We are thrilled to bring the A2E program to the Philippines as part of our global mission to help nonprofits achieve even more,” says Anne-Marie Frassica, McKinsey.org director. “By equipping these organizations with essential workplace skills, we’re not just supporting their immediate operations but amplifying their ability to serve millions of Filipinos in need.”
The A2E for Nonprofits program, which McKinsey.org has run since 2022, focuses on capability building for employees by teaching nine essential workplace skills to help nonprofits execute their missions.

The program takes nonprofit employees—from the front line to senior leaders—on a six-month learning journey to unlock the full potential of their organization. To date, the program has reached over 9,500 employees from over 140 nonprofits globally, which collectively support 50 million beneficiaries.
The workshop represents a significant expansion of McKinsey.org’s presence in Southeast Asia. It is also seen to underscore McKinsey’s commitment to sharing its leadership and organizational development expertise with the social sector.
“The A2E program reflects McKinsey Manila’s ongoing efforts to create positive social impact in our communities,” says Cecille Garcia, McKinsey Global Services Manila director of operations.
“After this first cohort, we plan to expand the A2E program across more regions in the country and increase the number of participating organizations in the coming years. The knowledge and practices these organizations learn will help improve their operational effectiveness, enabling them to better serve communities across the Philippines.”
The A2E program is one of McKinsey.org’s flagship programs, provided at no cost to participating organizations and individuals as part of its commitment to growing economic opportunity so that economies prosper, communities grow and people progress.
McKinsey.org’s programs for nonprofits aim to drive organizational-level change, enabling nonprofits to better serve their communities, while its program for individuals equips participants with the same foundational skills it teaches its own staff to help them advance their careers.
