BARMM continues health services in Sulu

COTABATO CITY—Despite President Marcos’ Executive Order No. 91 that placed Sulu province under Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9), the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the Bangsamoro continued to serve the people of Sulu, said Dr. Kadil Sinolinding Jr., head of the MOH in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Sinolinding said they turned over nine dialysis machines to Sulu Provincial Hospital (SPH) for the province’s first hemodialysis center on Aug. 15 and on Aug. 18, 127 health workers signed contracts under the MOH Human Resource for Health Bangsamoro Placement program for deployment to the Integrated Provincial Health Office and Barangay and Rural Health Units in Sulu.
The health workers assignments would include conducting orientation and actual immunization and vaccination, supporting the program on nutrition and house-to-house monitoring of the health status of residents, especially pregnant women and children, he added.
Sinolinding was accompanied by Sulu Gov. Abdusakur Tan II, members of parliament Nabil Tan and Jose Lorena during the inauguration of the SPH Hemodialysis Center in the capital town of Jolo.
‘One with you’
During the contract signing of health workers in Lamitan, Basilan province, Sinolinding also assured that the BARMM, would “continue serving you and we are one with you for the development of Sulu, especially on health services.”
He also said they also released P23 million from the MOH Special Development Fund to SPH for the hospital’s oxygen tank generator.
Dr. Nehama Tan-Singki, SPH officer in charge, expressed her gratitude to the Bangsamoro government, saying that its support would allow the hospital to improve health services in Sulu.
