MR.DIY Philippines wins gold at Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards 2025

MANILA, Philippines – MR.DIY Philippines has been named the Gold Awardee in the Social Category (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) at the inaugural Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards 2025, held last September 5 at the Inquirer Media Resource Plaza in Makati City.
The retailer was recognized for its Pilot Internship Program for Neurodiverse Students, an initiative that equips special learners with workplace skills while strengthening inclusion and diversity within MR DIY.
To date, it has partnered with Candent Learning Haus and Marvelous Minds Tutorial Center, institutions dedicated to preparing students on the autism spectrum for life after school. Out of 73 entries submitted, 35 winners were honored across categories, with MR.DIY Philippines emerging as one of the top awardees.
This achievement also gives MR.DIY Philippines the opportunity to represent the country at the Asia ESG Impact Awards in Malaysia this November, where it will compete with other Gold Winners from Indonesia and Malaysia. Presentations before a distinguished regional panel will take place this October.
This latest recognition marks the second DEI-related award for MR.DIY Philippines.
In 2023, the company was honored at the Creador ESG Impact Awards in the Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) category for its comprehensive DEI policy, gender-responsive leave entitlements, and efforts to eliminate wage gaps.
The award highlighted MR.DIY’s commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, with a strong representation of women in leadership and a balanced workforce across the organization.
“Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goes beyond policy—it’s about creating real opportunities that touch lives and open doors,” said Roselle Andaya, Chief Executive Officer of MR.DIY Philippines.
“This Gold Award from the Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards is a testament to the collective efforts of our team to build a workplace and community where everyone is valued and empowered. We are humbled to represent the Philippines on the regional stage and share how Filipino companies can lead with impact, and with a heart.”
The Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards is a new recognition program by the Philippine Daily Inquirer that celebrates organizations—ranging from small enterprises to large corporations—that advance Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.
The awards are part of the Inquirer Group’s broader ESG initiative, Inquirer ESG Edge, a multi-platform advocacy that promotes awareness and action on ESG through impactful storytelling, forums, and partnerships. Since its launch, ESG Edge has published in-depth features, hosted community talks, and spotlighted sustainability-driven programs.
The initiative is aligned with the mission of the Asia ESG Positive Impact Consortium, which unites leading media organizations in Southeast Asia, including Star ESG (Malaysia), KG Media Lestari (Indonesia), and Inquirer ESG Edge (Philippines).
Together, the Consortium champions socio-economic progress and environmental stewardship through education, engagement, and community-building.
