BIZ BUZZ: Ex-Accenture chief joins RRHI board

IT-business process management veteran Manolito Tayag has joined Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. (RRHI) as the fifth independent director, completing the nine-member board of the Gokongwei-led retail giant.
RRHI said bringing Tayag to the board reflected its “continuing commitment to best-in-class corporate governance practices, particularly in fostering a more balanced and well-experienced board.”
Tayag served as country managing director of Accenture, Inc. (Philippines) for more than 12 years from March 2010 to November 2022. During this time, he was credited for driving country strategy and initiatives, leading talent programs, expanding client accounts, strengthening industry capabilities and raising the Philippines’ profile in the global IT industry.
He also chaired the board of trustees of the Information Technology and
Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) from March 2017 to March 2021, where he played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the IT-BPM Industry Road Map 2022 that set the path for the creation of 1.4 million jobs in the industry by 2022.
“We are pleased to welcome Lito to the RRHI board. His experience in strategy development and execution is poised to bring valuable insights and fresh perspectives as we continue our journey toward becoming an innovative and customer-centric retailer of choice,” said RRHI chair Robina Gokongwei-Pe.
Tayag said he looked forward to “supporting the company’s mission that has a direct impact on people’s lives and contributes lasting value to the communities it serves.”
