Once the leader in the region (second to Japan) up to 1969, it was overtaken by Indonesia in the early ’70s, then by Thailand in the ’80s, and by Malaysia—whose population is less than half of ours—in the ’90s. Major inflection points in 60 years were caused by the elected leaders.

Critical infrastructure cannot be built overnight. Philippine dynasties, trapos and civil service personnel, due to greed and fear, have ensured their own privileged futures by steadfastly refusing to provide adequate education and healthcare to the impoverished masses, condemning the nation to playing catch-up in perpetuity.
