BIZ BUZZ: Wanted: New BSP ‘AG’

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is on the hunt for a new assistant governor.

The slot opened up after Zeno Ronald Abenoja was promoted in May to deputy governor in charge of the monetary and economics sector.

The new “AG” will serve at the monetary policy sub-sector, a post that calls for at least 12 years of relevant experience—five of which should be in management.

Expertise in economic research, policy analysis, financial markets, banking or forecasting will definitely help one’s chances.

Sounds like a tall order, but then again, whoever gets the post will help set the tone for keeping inflation in check and making appropriate monetary policy moves.

No pressure.
