LUXURY JUST GOT BIGGER AND BETTER

Lexus is a fixture in the Philippines in more ways than one. For one, it has toppled European titans like BMW and Mercedes-Benz to become the country’s number-one luxury automotive brand. And if you happen to be strolling around the upscale Bonifacio Global City (BGC) business district in Taguig City, you will definitely remember its eye-catching showroom on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street.
Since 2009, visitors had been able to check out the latest Lexus models in this airy space, complete with beautiful plants. Meanwhile, Lexus owners could relax in the customer lounge or enjoy a delectable snack in the bar (especially the awesome cookies).
But the Japanese luxury brand’s meteoric rise means it has outgrown its home for the last 16 years. That’s why aside from its showroom in Mitsukoshi BGC, the carmaker built its new flagship facility, Lexus Manila Gallery, on 8th Avenue in Grand Central Park.
“With the growing customer base of Lexus, it is necessary to provide a much better and larger facility that could address the limitations of the current facility,” said Lexus Manila president Carlo Ablaza in an exclusive interview with Inquirer Mobility.
Following its soft opening last August 18, customers have been able to visit the colossal, multi-floor facility that builds upon Lexus’ renowned omotenashi, which is a Japanese word that refers to hospitality, thoughtfulness and anticipation of a guest’s needs.
This includes a 10,128 square-meter floor area (a 40-percent increase from the previous showroom) and larger customer lounges, especially for the service-reception area. There are also 17 service bays (from 11) and 55 holding stalls (from 33), along with an electric-vehicle charger.
Lexus Manila Gallery likewise has two showrooms – one on the ground floor and one of the third floor. Meanwhile, a golf simulator and Ogawa massage chairs allow guests to better unwind and pass the time, while the in-house café will continue serving signature Japanese mocktails, coffee and cookies.
“The new Lexus Manila Gallery elevates the customer experience through its refined Japanese design with modern touches – featuring a spacious showroom that creates an elegant and inviting ambiance,” Ablaza said. “The aim is to provide a customer-centric experience built around Lexus’ signature hospitality, innovation and comfort.”
Experiencing amazing
Another eye-catching aspect of Lexus Manila Gallery is its architecture, making it a distinctly Japanese space in a cosmopolitan area like BGC.
Besides the familiar fountain in the main entrance, the showroom features large windows, light-colored floor tiles, a wood-panel ceiling and black-and white marble accents. And for those who drive by Lexus Manila Gallery, you’ll get the chance to see its flagship Lexus LFA supercar on display at the top floor.
“The design is inspired by Japanese aesthetics with a modern touch, creating a warm and elegant space,” Ablaza said. “It is rooted in omotenashi and reflects the Lexus promise to let every guest truly ‘Experience Amazing.’”
Ablaza added the Lexus Manila has no plans yet to open more showrooms.
