NBI breaks up sex trafficking ring in La Union

The National Bureau of Investigation has rescued 26 individuals, including seven minors, and arrested three individuals believed to be involved in a suspected sex trafficking operation in La Union.

NBI agents arrested on Oct. 9 Robert Cu, alias “Warren Cruz,” Vanessa Bernaldo alias “Vhanz,” and one alias “Jepot”—whose name was not disclosed as he is a minor—for pimping the victims online.

They also rescued 19 adults, 18 of them women, in addition to seven minors, four of them girls.

The operation was conducted based on information from an antichild trafficking nongovernment organization that reported trafficking activities online, according to the NBI.
