P3B released for better internet connectivity in schools

The national government has released P3 billion to fast-track full digital connectivity in public schools, particularly in remote and geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said on Wednesday.

Of the amount, P1.5 billion will go to the Department of Education’s Connectivity Enhancement Program for E-Learning, which targets more than 8,200 “Last-Mile” schools nationwide.

Another P1.5 billion has been allocated for the Department of Information and Communications Technology to support the Free Public Internet Access Program.
