Albay bishop: Radioman’s slay ‘senseless’

Legazpi Bishop Joel Baylon on Thursday denounced the murder of radio broadcaster Noel Bellen Samar, who was attacked by still unidentified gunmen on Monday in Guinobatan, Albay.

The bishop called for “justice and accountability in the face of this senseless act of violence.”

“Nothing can ever justify murder — not personal disputes, not political differences, not even appeals to public order or national security,” Baylon said.

Samar, 54, a blocktime commentator of dwIZ and manager of Kadunong ITV, died in a hospital in Legazpi City on Tuesday.
