The geometry of calm in the Makati sky

Ar. John Ian Lee Fulgar

In Makati City, the skyline continues to evolve while respecting its heritage.

Rising in Dela Rosa Gardens, Laurean Residences by Ayala Land Premier reflects this ongoing change. This up and coming premium residential tower doesn’t aim to overpower the skyline.

Instead, it interacts with it, drawing inspiration from the city’s natural flow and reimagining vertical living in this central business district (CBD) as a more rooted experience. Laurean Residences simply encourages residents to enjoy the city’s pace without sacrificing tranquility.

The new face of Makati living

The Dela Rosa Gardens, where Laurean Residences will rise, offers a refreshing reinterpretation of Makati’s urban life. Here, the pulse of the metropolis meets the ease of pedestrian movement.

By linking to Makati’s network of underground and elevated walkways, Laurean Residences connects seamlessly to dining enclaves, art spaces, and commercial centers. It encourages walking as a form of living, an experience of the city at a human scale, where every path leads to either an activity or a much needed retreat.

Rising 65 stories above the city, the development devotes more than half a hectare to amenities designed as extensions of the home. Wellness lounges, spa suites, and co-working areas frame daily rituals with calm precision. These are not accessories to living but integral parts of an environment where social interaction and solitude coexist in equilibrium.

Residences range from thoughtfully scaled suites to two- and four-bedroom homes, including rare bi-level layouts expressing scale and intimacy.

At the heart of Laurean Residences’ identity is a layered design story created by renowned interior designer Joyce Wang.

Design as a narrative

At the heart of Laurean Residences’ identity is a layered design story created by renowned interior designer Joyce Wang.

Her creative approach draws from three interconnected influences: chess, aviation, and fashion, each adding a unique element to the project’s character.

Chess introduces a sense of geometry and order, reflecting discipline and purposeful movement. Aviation references the site’s history as an airfield while conveying lightness and elevation. Fashion adds emotion through form, translating the flowing drape of local design into spatial elegance.

These inspirations converge to form interiors that balance structure and softness. The spaces neither impose nor withdraw—they flow.

Wang’s approach transforms the static into the experiential, reminding residents that architecture is not simply about enclosure but about how light, proportion, and material provoke feeling. The result is a composition that allows calm to become tactile.

The experience is akin to inhabiting a private club without formality, a community defined by grace rather than spectacle. The architecture encourages pauses. There is a moment of reflection in a reading nook, a quiet conversation by the poolside, an unhurried meal in a dining space bathed in soft light. These gestures define the luxury of presence in a city that rarely stands still.
