Lexus unveils 360-Degree Mobility at JMS2025

Tokyo, Japan — Lexus redefined the future of premium travel at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, unveiling a sweeping mobility ecosystem that stretches across land, sea, and air.

Under the banner of “Lexus 360 Mobility,” the brand presented concept innovations designed to liberate customers from traditional boundaries of transportation and transform luxury into limitless exploration.

In a presentation delivered by Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries, Lexus challenged long-held notions of what a luxury automotive brand can be, emphasizing a future rooted not just in performance and design—but in space, independence, and personal discovery.

“Lexus has always been about more than four wheels,” Humphries told the audience. “We want to help our customers see the world through new eyes—to discover limitless horizons yet still feel at home.”

The New LS “Luxury Space” Concept

Central to the presentation was the world premiere of the new LS Concept, signaling a bold evolution of Lexus’s flagship philosophy. No longer defined as a “Luxury Sedan,” the LS now stands for “Luxury Space.”

The model showcased a dramatic six-wheel configuration—an unconventional design intended to elongate the vehicle and maximize interior volume. The LS becomes a mobile oasis: a “home away from home,” according to Humphries, built around privacy, freedom, and personal curation.

Lexus also previewed two complementary flagship models. The LS Sport Concept engineered for an immersive, high-emotion driving experience; and the LS Coupe Concept, a dual-purpose grand tourer promising exhilarating performance for drivers and refined comfort for passengers. Together, these new flagships form what Lexus calls the “arrowhead” that will lead the brand into a multi-dimensional luxury future.

Luxry Space beyond Land: Autonomous Catamaran & Air Taxi

“We can foresee a time when we will no longer be tethered to roads,” Humphries said. “Freedom will not be limited by land.”

The future of luxury lifestyle can be mobile, fluid, and unconstrained. Translating its design ethos beyond roads, Lexus introduced ambitious concepts for maritime and aerial travel.

The Lexus “Autonomous Catamaran Concept” imagines seafaring serenity paired with advanced automation. Designed to provide unmatched privacy and escape, the vessel embodies Lexus’s promise of peaceful autonomy and refined adventure. With sleek proportions and warm, Japanese-inspired hospitality in its interiors, the concept presents a new way to travel and live beyond the coastline.

In partnership with Joby Aviation, Lexus highlighted an “Air-Mobility Concept” with six propellers and airplane-style wings. What visually appears to be a helicopter-cum-airplane is categorized as an airplane because of its wings, which are designed to make it safer and more aerodynamic. Its six propellers enable vertical take-off and landing, and a more quiet flight. This electric air taxi is poised to reshape city travel.

Quiet and efficient, the electric air taxi promises fast, zero-emission aerial commuting for future megacities. While Toyota is Joby’s largest investor and manufacturing partner, Lexus envisions bringing a premium hospitality layer to airborne mobility—turning transit time into bespoke experience time.

Humphries framed Lexus’s expansion as a natural progression of its mission to fuse products and lifestyle. Instead of focusing solely on vehicles, Lexus spoke of supporting personal brands, empowering customers to craft curated, independent lives—whether in motion or at rest.

“Luxury is leadership,” he said. “And the leading edge of luxury is forever evolving.”

The presentation made clear that Lexus is positioning itself not simply as a carmaker, but as a designer of holistic mobility experiences—where cabins can be private retreats, cities serve as launch pads for multi-modal travel, and movement is seamlessly integrated across all dimensions.

With 360-degree mobility at its core, Lexus signaled that the future of luxury lies not in horsepower, but in horizon-power: the ability to roam, explore, and live without limits.

From ground-bound elegance to airborne escapism and maritime serenity, Lexus’s vision transcends conventional boundaries. It invites the world to rethink what it means to move, live, and discover in the next era of mobility.

As the Japan Mobility Show continues to shape the mobility landscape, Lexus has made one thing unmistakably clear: the journey ahead is not just evolution—it’s expansion.
