Everything we know about PokéPark Kanto, the first Pokémon theme park
While they aren’t likely to develop and evolve their mainline games anytime soon, Pokémon looks to be busy elsewhere—from an incoming “Animal Crossing” styled “Pokopia” to now, the soon-to-open world’s first Pokémon theme park: PokéPark Kanto. Set to open on Feb. 5, 2026, it’s a 26,000-square-meter park situated within Yomiuriland, an amusement park located in Tama Hills, Tokyo.
The first-ever permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction features all sorts of sights and activities, from relaxing strolls inside Pokémon Forest to electrifying battles at the Sedge Town Gym—all with the opportunity to see and hang out alongside more than 600 Pokémon in the area.
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have Pokémon in the real world, well, this is the closest we’re gonna get.

PokéPark Entrance Plaza
PokéPark Kanto is divided into three areas, with the first being the PokéPark Entrance Plaza. Inside this welcome into the world of Pokémon, guests will first be greeted by Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, as they accompany you to your first steps inside the PokéPark.
Once you’re ready to embark on your trainer journey, you can pass through either the Town Gate to go to Sedge Town or the Forest Gate to enter Pokémon Forest.
Pokémon Daisuki Shop is also in the area, a gift store featuring original merchandise like Pokémon-themed accessories, caps, and snacks.
Pokémon Forest
Perhaps our very own version of the Safari Zone, the Pokémon Forest is over 1,600 feet in length and features hilly paths, tall grass, tunnels, and rocky trails. Be sure to bring your Pokédex and see a variety of Pokémon from Kanto in their natural habitat.
Take note that because the forest will have grassy areas and uneven paths, children under the age of five are not permitted entry, even with an accompanying adult.

Sedge Town
Meanwhile, Sedge Town is home to most of PokéPark Kanto’s attractions: the Pokémon Center, where you can watch Chansey bring your favorite Pokémon back to health; the Poké Mart, where you buy specialty drinks to refresh and hydrate after a day spent walking around; Pokémon Playhouse, where there will be meet-and-greets with different Pokémon every day; and Pokémon Trainers’ Market, a sprawling alley filled with different Pokémon-themed merchandise.
There’s also Pika Pika Paradise, a ride powered by over 30 Electric-type Pokémon, led by the fan-favorite Pikachu, and Vee Vee Voyage, a carriage pulled by Ponyta and Rapidash. You can also travel by balloon with Eevee.
And what is a visit to the world of Pokémon without at least starting your journey to Pokémon master? Inside Sedge Town is their very own Electric-type Gym where you can have a front seat to some of PokéPark Kanto’s most electrifying battles.
Are you ready to step into the world of Pokémon? Tickets for PokéPark Kanto will go on sale starting Nov. 21, 2025.
