Suntrust Properties marks 28 years of building happy, inspiring homes for Filipinos

Trusted developer Suntrust Properties Inc. radiated hope as it launched outreach programs to mark its 28th anniversary, uplifting various communities at a time when disasters caused great despair.

Source of hope, bright future

“Suntrust’s 28th anniversary reflects our vision of becoming a source of hope and brighter futures for Filipinos,” said Suntrust president Atty. Harrison M. Paltongan.

He perfectly captured “Beacons of Hope,” the theme of Suntrust’s anniversary, which the company marked with a string of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

“Through our outreach events, we create spaces where lives become more connected,” Paltongan noted. “It’s always the people who matter most. Because of them, we create communities that foster better futures.”

CSR initiatives

A group of Suntrust employees partnered with local officials for a Gift-Giving and Food Rescue Program for the children of Barangay Talipapa, Quezon City on Nov. 15. Days earlier, on Nov. 12, another group of Suntrust volunteers donated office] equipment to Barangay Gibraltar in Baguio City.

In Talipapa, the employees mounted engaging and educational activities. They also gave away homemade breakfast and lunch meals, as well as popcorn and taho. The donations to Gibraltar would, meanwhile, improve local services and enhance operational efficiency.

Suntrust also continued its long-standing commitment to uplift its own homeowners and communities. The company organized a medical mission for the residents of Suntrust Shanata on Nov. 15, providing free checkups, medication and assistive devices like wheelchairs and canes. It also treated residents to food booths and interactive games.

“The spirit of malasakit extends from our employees to our homeowners, who joined us in these efforts,” Paltongan said.

Malasakit as a core value

Suntrust is known for including “malasakit” in the way it operates, even declaring it as a core value. This choice comes from its longtime advocacy of offering affordably priced homes in key locations.

“More than building structures, we nurture hope and strengthen the bonds that unite Filipinos,” Paltongan added.

The good work did not just go out. Some anniversary efforts actually focused on Suntrust employees. The company gave them surprise treats from Nov. 11 to 14. These included all-time favorites like taho, ice cream and pancit, as well as exclusive company memorabilia.

Last week, the company also offered opportunities to tighten the bonds connecting employees through a thanksgiving Mass, an anniversary program at One World Square in Taguig City, then a “Happy After Hours” event at Whisky Park.

“We want everyone to embrace the value of malasakit,” shared Suntrust senior vice president Basilio Almazan Jr. “We are a family. It is the responsibility of everyone to take care of each other without fail.”

Building happy, inspiring homes

From employee surprises to community service initiatives, the Suntrust family celebrated 28 years of being in the business of building happy, inspiring homes and neighborhoods for Filipinos.

The anniversary logo also thoughtfully reminds employees to grow the company, reach more milestones, and fulfill their brand promise: “Suntrust and Beyond.”

The logo includes three lines, representing Suntrust’s commitment to serve more Filipinos by growing its presence across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. It also features an arrow pointing forward, which reflects its commitment to progress, resilience and communities that uplift lives.
