That Congress still passed a pork-loaded budget throws the ball to President Marcos’ desk. Will he veto it and cut the pork and endanger House support next year? The people are waiting for the first senator or congressman to land in jail.

Of the three challenges mentioned in the article, the third threat seems the most serious. If the Dutertes return to power, expect swift retribution against the Marcos administration. Mr. Marcos must actively work to coalesce with the opposition to come up with an acceptable presidential candidate who also opposes Duterte.
