Inquirer.net keeps lead as most visited PH news site in 2025

Inquirer.net has topped the list of the country’s most visited local news websites for 2025, according to web traffic analytics firm Similarweb.

Data released by Similarweb on Monday showed that Inquirer.net recorded a total of 105.1 million visits across its platforms, maintaining a clear lead over competitors.

GMA Network ranked second with 98.77 million visits, followed by ABS-CBN with 90.53 million, PhilStar Online with 64.05 million and Rappler with 57.24 million.

In December 2025 alone, data showed that Inquirer.net once again secured the top spot with 6.723 million visits, surpassing GMA Network’s 5.414 million, ABS-CBN’s 4.750 million, PhilStar Online’s 3.858 million and Rappler’s 2.853 million.

Key factors

Similarweb noted that Inquirer.net maintained its market leadership for the sixth consecutive month in December, adding that its strong performance since July, combined with its dominance from January to April, secured the outlet’s overall lead as the country’s most visited local news site for 2025.

According to Similarweb’s metrics, Inquirer.net’s strong direct visits and high organic search traffic were key factors behind its total visit advantage.

Inquirer.net recorded 24 million direct visits as of December 2025, significantly higher than GMA Network’s 17.6 million, which secured the second spot, and Rappler’s 9 million, which ranked fifth.

Similarweb has provided Inquirer.net with data analytics services since February 2022.

Beyond monitoring online traffic, Similarweb’s services also help Inquirer.net stay competitive in content delivery and audience engagement, offering insights that allow the news outlet to “make strategic decisions based on the most comprehensive, real-time view of competitive activity across all digital marketing channels.”
