The looks that defined the 2026 Golden Globes

Colleen Cosme

At the 2026 Golden Globes, black and white gowns set a sleek, almost uniform tone on the red carpet until moments of sparkle, skin, and unexpected silhouettes broke through. While many of Hollywood’s leading men stayed classic in tuxedos or leaned into bold suiting and statement brooches, the night as a whole felt less restrained than usual.

From naked dressing and strategic cut-outs to fringe, sculptural tailoring, and even bedazzled thong details, these were the standout moments that defined our favorite looks of the night.

Jennifer Lawrence

Returning to the Golden Globes, where she’s now been nominated seven times, including a 2026 nod for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, Jennifer Lawrence turned heads in a custom sheer, floral-embroidered gown by Sarah Burton for Givenchy.

The dress featured delicately embroidered florals placed with intention, offering coverage without killing the intrigue. Paired with a matching shrug and rich Sabyasachi Mukherjee jewelry, the look felt confident, controlled, and daring all at once.

Renate Reinsve

Nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, Renate Reinsve delivered our favorite look of the night. Her silver, strapless Louis Vuitton gown featured cascading layers of fringe that moved beautifully with every step.

She accessorized with Boucheron, but notably skipped a necklace—an inspired choice given the gown’s already compelling neckline.

Jenna Ortega

Jenna Ortega wore a black gown by Dilara Findikoglu, inspired by marching-band uniforms and reworked into something unmistakably her own.

Dramatic side cutouts and beaded shoulder fringe gave the dress movement and attitude, while Simone Jewels earrings completed the look. Her tucked-in hair drew focus to the neckline and shoulders, while bleached brows and a cool-toned brown lip leaned fully into gothic chic.

Emma Stone

In a room dominated by black and white gowns, Emma Stone’s butter-yellow look felt genuinely refreshing. Nominated for “Bugonia,” she wore a Louis Vuitton two-piece consisting of a cropped silk boat-neck top and a beaded, low-rise skirt.

Glen Powell

Nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Chad Powers, Glen Powell opted for classic tailoring with a subtle twist. He wore a midnight-blue velvet tuxedo by Brunello Cucinelli, finished with a summer band and a solid-gold Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra that added the right touch.

Emily Blunt

Now an eight-time nominee, Emily Blunt leaned into refined elegance in a custom white Louis Vuitton column dress topped with a cape-like overlay. Styled by Jessica Paster, the gown featured oversized crystal buttons that mirrored the sparkle of her Tiffany & Co. diamonds. The result was clean, luminous, and timeless without feeling stiff.

Teyana Taylor

A first-time nominee who left as a winner, Teyana Taylor made one of the night’s boldest statements. She wore sculptural Schiaparelli Couture by Daniel Roseberry, featuring liquid black silk draped across her body and wrapped into a scarf-like train.

Selena Gomez

Nominated for her role in “Only Murders in the Building,” Selena Gomez committed fully to Chanel for the evening. She wore a black velvet bustier gown adorned with over 200 floral elements crafted from feathers, organza, and silk chiffon, a piece that reportedly took 323 hours to complete.

Where she truly shone was in the beauty styling: soft, ’50s-inspired updo and one of the night’s best vampy red lips.

Zoey Deutch

Zoey Deutch brought a breath of fresh air in a white Prada gown accented by a black, crystal-fringed waistline. The relaxed silhouette, intricate beading, and sharp pleating felt modern and unfussy.

Chris Perfetti

Chris Perfetti proved that men’s red carpet dressing doesn’t need to default to black tie. He stood out in a vibrant cobalt suit by Christian Cowan, paired with a collared shirt and finished with a single rose-stem hardware detail on the jacket.

Lisa

Blackpink’s Lisa offered a softer interpretation of naked dressing in a sheer black gown from the Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2026 runway. The slouchy silhouette paired a sheer flowy top with a matte skirt and cape-like sleeves finished with tassels. A black bandeau peeked through the sheer fabric, while bold Bulgari jewelry anchored the look.

Patrick Schwarzenegger

Patrick Schwarzenegger leaned into contrast in Dolce & Gabbana, paired with an Omega timepiece. Polished from the front and more rebellious from behind, his slicked-back hair transitioned into a subtle mullet flip. Oversized, diamond-encrusted floral brooches added flair, reinforcing the sense that statement accessories are very much back.
