LTO summons vlogger in viral road rage video

Keith Clores

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show-cause order to a vlogger who was reportedly involved in a road rage incident.

The LTO, in a statement on Monday, cited a viral video which showed the vlogger “intentionally [driving] close to another vehicle.” It said that the vlogger went out of his vehicle at a stoplight, approached another vehicle and “made inappropriate remarks toward its driver.”

According to the LTO, it has asked the vlogger to appear before the agency and explain why he must not be held liable for reckless driving and for being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.

Additionally, he must also surrender his driver’s license upon receiving the LTO’s show-cause order. As for the vehicle he was driving at the time of the incident, the LTO said it has been placed under alarm to ensure that it could not be used while the case against the driver is under investigation.

Following the incident, LTO chief and Transport Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao warned motorists against any display of “arrogant behavior,” saying that it is not only a violation of traffic laws but can also endanger the safety of other people on the road.
