First-ever training center of its kind for Chinese brands in the PH officially opens
With the exponential growth of Chinese vehicles in the local automotive industry in recent years, overall vehicle sales are at an all-time boom.
In 2024, overall car sales ballooned to 473,842 units, while recently, for 2025, numbers jumped to 491,395 units–a new record for the Philippine automotive scene.
A significant part of this, according to reports, comes from Chinese vehicles. And as what naturally happens, with these high demands come intense cutthroat competition.
Let’s face it. These Chinese vehicles, with their modern, futuristic looks, green-centric and technology-loaded features all at a value-packed proposition, almost practically look the same. Out there in the streets, you could easily mistake this brand for another, if not for the obviously protruding logo out in front.
With all these, it then all boils down to the quality of the aftersales service and parts availability.
Good thing, United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. takes the initiative to build a training center solely dedicated to enhancing the aftersales service for all its brands.
As the brainchild of its chairman, Rommel Sytin, the UAAGI Center for Technical Excellence in Valenzuela City was recently inaugurated, further solidifying its 20-year legacy of expertise and commitment to reliable aftersales service in the country. The 1,200 square-meter facility is catered to service all six UAAGI brands: BAIC, Chery, Foton, Jetour, Lynk&Co and Radar.
“With this center, we are strengthening our service standards for all UAAGI brands,” said UAAGI executive director, Timothy Sytin, at his introductory speech during the opening ceremony.
“It allows us to align our dealers under one unified culture of excellence, professionalism and customer care, while still respecting the unique technical requirements of each brand,” he added.
“So when technical expertise is matched by strong parts support, we create an aftersales ecosystem that truly works for both dealers and customers.”
According to him, the facility is meticulously designed with the future in mind. It provides an environment that fosters high-capacity learning, hands-on technical mastery and continuous skill development from foundational diagnostics to advanced systems in powertrain, electronics, chassis, brakes and most importantly hybrid, and electric vehicle technologies.
The facility, he further explained, equips their people with the expertise they need to thrive in the ever-evolving automotive industry.
“As the industry progresses, UAAGI ensures that our workforce and service infrastructure remain at the forefront of innovation and excellence.”
For him, the training center is not only about machines and systems, it is also about the people.
Designed for high-capacity learning
Specifically, the center features four specialized environments capable of training 120 personnel simultaneously.
To facilitate immersive, hands-on mastery, the center is outfitted with industrial-grade equipment, including vehicle lifters, brand-specific diagnostic tools, engine rigs, and specialized components, even including a refrigerant recycling recovery machine (1234YF).
Moreover, the facility likewise hosts comprehensive product knowledge training and a rigorous certification process for technicians, service advisers, and parts consultants.
Further bolstering aftersales reliability
To further boost its aftersales reliability, essential to the whole process is parts availability.
That’s why they have an expansive 8,700-square-meter Base 2 facility, just beside the training center located within the compound. Here, they have a vast warehouse network housing an inventory of 986,000 spare parts.
This comprehensive stock ensures that critical components—ranging from routine maintenance items to intricate engine and electrical systems.
“We are not only investing in the quality service but more so investing also in the parts,” meanwhile, for part, said the company’s vice president for customer service, Lito Landicho.
“So, which means the parts should be available every time we prepare our vehicles.”
In fact, UAAGI achieves a world-class 94-percent average fill rate. This operational precision translates into industry-leading turnaround times: 24-hour availability for Metro Manila and just three days for the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
Even for specialized, non-stocked components, UAAGI maintains a disciplined 25-day lead time, offering owners the absolute confidence that their investment is supported by a powerhouse of logistical excellence and unwavering long-term commitment.
In closing, the company chairman said: “The opening of this facility is a testament of UAAGI’s commitment to our business partners and our clientele. By investing in modern training and aftersales infrastructure, we are ensuring our personnel are equipped to uphold the highest service standards. Our goal remains clear: to provide every customer across our brands with the reliable, responsive support that defines the UAAGI ownership experience.”
