BIZ BUZZ: ACEN powers Pangilinan’s Batangas resort

Billionaire Manuel V. Pangilinan has turned to Ayala’s ACEN Corp. to run his 4-star Batangas resort on clean electricity.

ACEN said Monday it has clinched a supply agreement with Landco Pacific Corp. to energize Calatagan South Beach (CaSoBe) resort with 100 percent renewable energy.

The real estate developer is a subsidiary of Pangilinan-led Metro Pacific Investments Corp.

The deal—carried out under the government’s green energy option program (GEOP), provides “a truly sustainable and responsible leisure experience” for CaSoBe’s guests, according to Landco president and CEO Erickson Manzano.

The 15-hectare CaSoBe blends modern leisure and residential living, featuring contemporary resort amenities, including the experiential resort hotel accommodations of Crusoe Cabins, Apollo Aeropods and Cupola.

“ACEN RES is proud to support Landco Pacific’s CaSoBe in its decisive transition to 100 percent clean energy. This commitment reflects a growing awareness among major leisure destinations to embrace sustainability,” said Sheila Mina, vice president and head of account management at ACEN RES.
