BIZ BUZZ: Aboitiz goes big in Japan

Tina Arceo-Dumlao

Over more than three decades, the Aboitiz Group has established firm partnerships with Japanese investors, including Tsuneishi Heavy Industries, which helped position the Philippines as a major shipbuilding nation and JERA Inc., which has partnered with AboitizPower for large-scale energy projects.

No surprise then that it wants even more, thus Aboitiz Economic Estates has formally established a dedicated office in central Tokyo.

Tasked to head the office is Kazuaki Shirozono, who is mandated to help existing Japanese locators in its estates, guide new investors through market entry and site development and explain local realities to Japan-based stakeholders, including potential new investors.

Aboitiz Economic Estates believes that by establishing a dedicated presence in Japan, it will be able to reinforce its commitment to serve Japanese manufacturers as long-term and trusted operating partners.
