SWS: VP’s net satisfaction rating up by 6 points in November
Public net satisfaction rating over Vice President Sara Duterte’s performance went up in November although it remained “moderate,” according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey. In the survey conducted from Nov. 24 to Nov. 30, 54 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with Duterte’s performance while 26 percent were dissatisfied.
This resulted in a net satisfaction rating (percentage satisfied minus percentage dissatisfied) of +28, which SWS classifies as “moderate.”
Compared to the previous SWS survey in September, Duterte’s national net satisfaction rating rose by 6 percentage points from a “moderate” +22.
Highest in Mindanao
The latest results found that her net satisfaction rating stayed highest in Mindanao at an “excellent” +70, barely changed from the “very good” +69 in September. This was followed by +41 (“good”) in the Visayas, up by 9 points from +32; a “neutral” +9 (up 10 points from -1) in Luzon outside Metro Manila; and net zero (down 3 points from +3) in Metro Manila.
The same survey earlier reported a “neutral” net satisfaction rating of -3 for President Marcos, with 40 percent of respondents saying they were satisfied with his performance and 43 percent saying they were dissatisfied. The President’s result was a two-point increase from September’s “neutral” -5 rating.
The November survey also found that Senate President Vicente Sotto III had a “moderate” net satisfaction rating of +16 (46 percent satisfied, 30 percent dissatisfied), hardly changed from September’s “moderate” +17.

Other officials
House Speaker Faustino Dy had a “neutral” rating of +5 (33 percent satisfied, 28 percent dissatisfied), up slightly from a “neutral” +2; while Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo had a “neutral” rating of +9 (36 percent satisfied, 27 percent dissatisfied), which was unchanged from September.
By area, Sotto’s net satisfaction for November was highest in Luzon outside Metro Manila at a “moderate” +26, hardly changing from September’s “moderate” +23. This was followed by a “moderate” +17 in the Visayas (unchanged from September), a “neutral” +5 (up from +6) in Mindanao, and a “neutral” +4 (down from +17) in Metro Manila.
Like Sotto, the net satisfaction ratings of Dy and Gesmundo were also highest in Luzon outside Metro Manila.
For the Speaker, it was at “moderate” +12 (up from +3) in the said area, followed by a “neutral” +2 (unchanged) in Mindanao, a “neutral” -2 (down from +5) in the Visayas, and a “neutral” -7 (down from -3) in Metro Manila.

Aside from Luzon outside Metro Manila, Gesmundo’s net satisfaction rating was also highest in the Visayas, both at a “moderate” +10 (up from +6 and down from +15, respectively). He had “neutral” ratings of +8 in Mindanao (down from +7) and +3 in Metro Manila (down from +16).
SWS classifies ratings of +70 and above as “excellent;” +50 to +69 as “very good;” +30 to +49 as “good;” +10 to +29 as “moderate;” +9 to -9 as “neutral;” -10 to -29 as “poor;” -30 to -49 as “bad;” -50 to -69 as “very bad;” and -70 and below as “execrable.”
The survey used face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults and had sampling error margins of plus-or-minus 3 percent or national percentages and plus-or-minus 6 percent each for Metro Manila, Luzon outside Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
