Authorities have arrested a Malaysian man at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 for trying to smuggle into the country P112-million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth).

The Bureau of Customs said on Monday that the suspect was apprehended on Feb. 28 after 16.526 kilograms of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated price of over P112 million, was found in his luggage.

It added that the man, who was not identified, would undergo inquest proceedings for violating Section 4, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
