I agree with that analysis for I have the same opinion that a wholesale change of attitude plus a revamp of the cultural practice are badly needed to change the archaic and corrupt practices that Filipinos have been doing for decades and leave as stuck in a third world status.

The emotion thing is real. I’m from Mindanao and I could not fathom why some members of my family refuse to listen to any evidence of wrongdoing. My father would just simple say “I have made up my mind.” Part of it comes from a steady diet of social media that frankly are very liberal with the truth. I have since then stopped discussing politics with him just to keep my and his sanity. It’s probably the only way for us to remain as family.
