MIAS 2026: Powering mobility against economic headwinds
The Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) returns next week, from April 9 to 12, for its 21st edition—marking more than two decades since its launch in 2005. And this year’s staging signals both growth and grit for the Philippine automotive industry.
Anchored on the theme “Powering Mobility,” MIAS 2026 will once again take place at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, but with a significant expansion: the return of the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) as a secondary, fully integrated venue. The move adds over 3,000 square meters of exhibition space and nearly 60 additional vehicle display slots, bringing the total show footprint to approximately 22,500 square meters. A custom-built, air-conditioned linkway will seamlessly connect both venues, complemented by shuttle services for visitors.
The PTTC’s return—last used as part of MIAS in 2018, represents both a logistical upgrade and a symbolic homecoming for long-time attendees. It also reflects the continued growth of the country’s premier motoring event, now able to accommodate more brands, technologies, and interactive experiences.
Despite global economic headwinds brought about by ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, organizers Worldbex Services International (WSI) have affirmed that the show will push through as scheduled. More importantly, MIAS 2026 positions itself as a platform for industry resilience, underscoring the need for the automotive sector to adapt, innovate, and move forward amid uncertainty.

This year’s show places a strong emphasis on responsible mobility and sustainability. A major highlight is the growing presence of electrified vehicles, with increased attention on electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, and new energy technologies. This shift mirrors a broader consumer trend, as interest in fuel-efficient and alternative-energy vehicles continues to rise alongside soaring fuel prices.
Visitors can expect a wide-ranging showcase that goes beyond traditional vehicle displays. Among the featured attractions are sustainable mobility solutions, EV charging infrastructure, and the debut of the Overland Experience Grounds Concept, which promotes eco-conscious outdoor lifestyles and off-grid travel. The Truck Pavilion also expands its offerings to include new energy commercial transport solutions.
BPI Auto Loans, the long-time co-presenter and exclusive financing partner of MIAS, aims to make vehicle ownership—particularly electrified options more accessible through exclusive financing packages. A staple of MIAS, the Petron Custom Classic Car Competition will once again highlight Filipino craftsmanship, blending heritage with modern engineering.
This year’s roster includes 25 participating automotive brands, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of today’s market: AITO, BAIC, Bestune, BYD, Changan, Chery, Deepal, Denza, DFSK, Foton, GAC, Geely, GWM, Jetour, Kia, Lotus, Lynk & Co, MG, MINI, Omoda, Jaecoo, Radar, Rox, 212 and a special curated collection of BMW M- Series vehicles and GR Philippines cars through the Autoplus Group.
With a mix of legacy marques and emerging players—many of them heavily invested in electrification—MIAS 2026 captures a pivotal moment for the industry. It is not just about showcasing new cars, but about redefining mobility in a rapidly changing world.
As the doors open next week, MIAS once again invites enthusiasts, industry stakeholders, and the public to witness how the automotive sector continues to evolve—driven by innovation, shaped by challenges, and fueled by a shared passion for mobility.
