1st Reading: Acts 4:13-21

Gospel: Mark 16:9-15

After Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary of Magdala, from whom he had driven out seven demons. She went and reported the news to his followers, who were now mourning and weeping. But when they heard that he lived, and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.

After this he showed himself in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. These men also went back and told the others, but they did not believe them.

Later Jesus showed himself to the Eleven while they were at table. He reproached them for their unbelief, and hardness of heart, in refusing to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. Then he told them, “Go out to the whole world and proclaim the Good News to all creation.”

Reflection:

The Good News is for all creation.

Jesus commands his disciples to “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to all creation.” This command challenges us to step beyond the boundaries of comfort and familiarity to share the message of Christ’s love, hope, and salvation with everyone. This mission is not restricted to words but encompasses actions that reflect Christ’s compassion and truth.

In today’s modern society, this mission faces numerous challenges. Secularism, social media distractions, and diverse cultural perspectives can make evangelization daunting. We often encounter indifference or resistance when sharing our faith. Furthermore, living the Gospel message authentically in a world that typically prioritizes materialism and self-interest is an ongoing struggle.

Despite these obstacles, the mission remains essential. It calls for creativity, courage, and perseverance from us. We can bridge divides and reveal the Gospel’s transformative power through acts of kindness, service, and genuine dialogue. Each disciple is reminded that the Good News is for all creation—an invitation to proclaim Christ’s love in every corner of the world.
