Talk of the Town: Probing collusion cartelization

Comments on “Probing collusion, cartelization,” (Editorial, 4/15/26) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:

The DOE should carry out an audit to look into oil firms, focusing on the breakdown of fuel prices and the profit margins they impose. Similarly, the BIR can examine the reasoning behind how oil companies and gas stations price their current stock during each price adjustment. There’s a lot of revenue being generated that needs to be properly taxed.

Fuel prices aren’t just about global shocks—this points to possible cartel-like practices among local oil firms. Stronger regulatory action is needed to protect consumers from unfair collusion.
