P6-M fuel seized, 2 nabbed in Agusan del Norte bust
SAN FRANCISCO, AGUSAN DEL SUR—The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) dismantled another illegal fuel operation in Agusan del Norte, seizing petroleum products worth an estimated P6.62 million and arresting two suspects in Barangay Santa Ana, Tubay, last Friday.
CIDG operatives caught the suspects during a raid on an alleged fuel pilferage activity, where fuel was being siphoned from a tanker truck without proper authority or permits.
Authorities confiscated a tanker containing about 180 liters of fuel.
CIDG officials said the illegal activity involved the unauthorized transfer of petroleum products from a tanker truck that had come from Cagayan de Oro City.
The operation follows a similar CIDG crackdown in Surigao del Norte on April 13, where 10 individuals were arrested and petroleum products worth P5.62 million were seized.
